Visiting the Unit
At Kingston Hospial we are unable to offer tours of the Maternity Unit. This decision was made primarily as we believe there is potential that this would disturb women in the unit and would impact on their privacy and dignity. In addition, there is a small but real chance of cross infection.
However, we know women and their partners want to see the environment to help prepare themselves for birth so we made a virtual tour that is available on this website. We hope this addresses the many questions that parents may have about the Unit.

While you are in the Unit...
We have an open visiting policy for parents.
Unfortunately no children, including siblings are allowed to visit on our Neonatal Unit (NNU) where babies are very vulnerable to infection and we try and reduce this risk for them by restricting visiting.
