Working Together

  • Midwives working within the hospital setting and out in the community providing care to women.
  • Specialist Midwives who provide specific support on screening, mental health, infant feeding and audit to name a few.
  • Registered Nurses the care in our theatres and our high dependency area is provided by trained Nurses.
  • Maternity Support Workers and Maternity Assistants are members of the Midwifery team who can provide some direct care towomen and babies, under the supervision of a Midwife. Some will work out in the community as well as in the Maternity Unit and they are based primarily in postnatal areas.
  • Nursery Nurses predominantly provide care for babies.

Will I have a personal midwife?

The Midwife who you see for your first appointment, also known as your booking assessment, will be your named midwife and she will see you at your antenatal appointments. On occasions you may see another Midwife from the team.
