We offer pregnancy yoga sessions led by a midwife who is also a qualified yoga instructor.

Benefits of Yoga

Pregnancy yoga.pngYoga combines body positions with breathing techniques. It is safe to practice during pregnancy and helps improve physical and mental wellbeing.

Who can attend?

The sessions are open to women and birthing people booked to give birth at Kingston Maternity at any stage of pregnancy (not for partners).

No previous experience of yoga is necessary. Yoga mats are provided. We suggest you wear comfortable clothing to allow for movement, and bring a bottle of water.

How to book

The classes run on Saturdays, 12.30pm - 1.45pm, in the wellbeing rooms in Antenatal Clinic, ground floor of the Maternity Unit.

You need to book to attend. Each session costs £12. You can book to attend one session or multiple sessions.

Yoga Plus is a midwife-led course of four weekly sessions, held on Saturday mornings in Kingston Maternity Unit, Outpatients Department (Wellbeing rooms): 10am - 12pm.

The sessions are run by Rhian and Kat. Rhian and Kat are midwives and yoga teachers. Their sessions will include breath awareness, flow and relaxation, with time at the end of each session to discuss your pregnancy, labour and birth.

The cost for this four-week course is £80. If you wish to attend, but funding is an issue, please contact krft.birthpreparation@nhs.net
